Timberpeg® timber frames are cut in our two factories, one of which is in New Hampshire and the other in Oregon.
Eastern white pine frames are normally cut in the East, while Douglas fir frames are usually produced on the West Coast. The heart of each factory is its Hundegger CNC cutting machine, capable of very fast, precise production.

The timbers are custom ordered from a variety of sources. In every case, Timberpeg® insists on the highest grade available.
Our pine is number two or better. The Douglas fir is Select Structural, not the number one grade commonly used in building.
The rough timbers arrive at the factories, where they are planed smooth and then run through the Hundegger. The machines are capable of most cuts, but in some cases custom joinery may require hand finishing. |

This is done by experienced craftsman who take pride in their work. An example of this handwork is a Truss that was done for the St. Edmunds Retreat.
Once the frame has been cut, it is bundled and wrapped with protective paper, and then placed on flat bed trucks for delivery. The siding, trim, millwork and roofing materials are also carefully bundled and included on the truck. Great care is taken to minimize the number of truckloads required for each project. |
