Award Winning Timber Frame Home

Gold Award - Specialty Outbuildings

Part of a family compound, this pool house matches

the shingled exterior and white trim of the main house, but is more casual in feeling. Facing the hot tub and pool, the pool house serves for entertaining family

and guests, as well as a guest cottage if needed.

Timber framed in eastern white pine, the cross gable design is straight forward and presents a symmetrical facade toward the pool. The east wall opens up with a custom four paneled door to allow indoor/outdoor access to the pool. The valley rafters of the frame

cross overhead, and a cupola provides additional

light, making the building very airy in feeling.

The kitchen features slate counter tops and island, and is large enough for entertaining. A small seating area has a television for evening or inclement weather use, and there is a small bedroom out the back with a ladder giving access to a loft overlooking the kitchen.

A simple but elegant structure, the pool house is part of a family compound that also includes the matching main house, a new timber framed barn for equipment and office use, and the original barn. Only the silo next to the original barn lets visitors know this may look like a farm, but it is far from ordinary.
