The heart of the home is the kitchen, which opens onto and faces both the breakfast and dining rooms and features low counters and a granite-topped island. The living room features a window wall facing south, with sliding doors leading out to a large deck. On the north side of the room is a special music area with a grand piano, and beyond are two bedrooms and baths. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a five fixture bath and spacious walk-in closets. There is also a den with a railing overlooking the cathedral great room. |

This house shows a nice blend on conventional and traditional framing, with the post-and-beam areas making use of the cathedral space and providing a dramatic great room. The home is an excellent example of how to maximize useable space and volume, while keeping costs reasonable. |
